User-Generated Content

Users may upload video content (with title, description, tags, and thumbnail). All uploads must follow our content guidelines. We prohibit any content that violates laws or third-party rights – for example, posts that break any local or international law (including copyright) are disallowed .  In particular:

  • Illegal or Infringing Content: No unlawful material or unauthorized copyrighted content .

  • Hate/Harassment: No hate speech, harassment, discrimination, or similarly offensive content .

  • Obscene/Explicit Content: No pornographic, overly violent, or explicit material .

  • Misinformation: No deliberate false information or propaganda. (All news should be accurate and relevant; users are expected to post truthful content.)

  • Relevance: Content must relate to African news, culture, or community topics. Off-topic or irrelevant posts may be removed.

  • Spam and Promotion: Purely promotional or spammy content is not allowed. For example, we forbid content that “contains spam, promotions, or self-advertising – includes unauthorized links, referral spam, or commercial solicitations” .   In short, you may include external links for reference, but links must be relevant and not used solely for advertising.

Content Moderation and Reporting

We rely on the community to report inappropriate content, and our team will review flagged posts. We reserve the right to monitor, review, and remove any user content at our sole discretion .  Content (or whole user accounts) that violate these rules may be removed or disabled without notice.  We are not responsible for user submissions and are not liable for any content we remove .

Akua AI Assistant

The app includes Akua, an AI chat assistant powered by OpenAI, to provide news-related conversation and insights. Akua is provided “as-is” for informational and entertainment purposes only. It does not represent professional advice. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of Akua’s responses; answers may be out-of-date or incorrect . We encourage you to verify any important information independently. By using Akua, you acknowledge these limitations. Abloh News and its providers disclaim any liability for decisions you make based on the AI assistant’s output . Akua’s functionality may change or be discontinued at any time without notice .

Account Termination and Enforcement

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, post prohibited content, or abuse the platform . For example, posting harmful or illegal content may lead to immediate account suspension and content removal .  Repeated or severe violations of our rules (including the content guidelines above) can result in permanent termination of your account and loss of access. Users may cancel their own accounts or subscriptions at any time via the app or app store; however, any unpaid fees or applicable penalties will be handled according to our billing terms.
